The Governors of Willington School regret to announce the departure of Mr Michael Chanter as Headmaster, who is stepping down due to ill health. Mr Chanter joined Willington as Headmaster in August 2013, leading the School through a period of substantial development and improvement. The Board of Governors are grateful for the many advances Willington has seen during Mr Chanter’s tenure. The School building has been extensively redeveloped, with new and refurbished facilities throughout as well as a master plan for the site’s future. The staff team has been strengthened, with increased emphasis on providing them with opportunities to progress and develop professionally. The School’s marketing and branding have been updated and modernised, particularly through the new website and new prospectus. Finally, and most importantly, the pupils have experienced a growth in the range of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities.
The Governors thank Mr Chanter for his dedicated service to Willington School and wish him every happiness in the future.
