Joining Us at 4+

The admissions process may seem daunting, but our Head of Admissions, Lucy Walton, and Head of Early Years, Zita Spence, will guide you through the entire process and are available to answer any of your queries. As you will see from our step-by-step guide to joining Willington, we offer a number of opportunities for you and your son/daughter to visit us, prior to joining, to ease the transition from nursery.

From September 2020, girls will be admitted into Reception and, thereafter, will move through the school year on year. Willington will be fully co-educational by 2026.

Early registration is advised and many parents like to register with us even before their child has celebrated their first birthday.  Although registration at least 12 months in advance of the September in which your son/daughter would join Willington is encouraged, this is not a requirement of the process.

Click here for our online Registration Form.  Those families who have not yet visited the School are invited to book a meeting with the Headmaster by contacting Lucy Walton on 020 8971 0452.

Play Afternoon

Willington hold Play Afternoons on a Friday in March for pre-schoolers over the age of 2.5 years. This is a wonderful opportunity for your son/daughter to visit the School with you, to meet the teachers and have a fun afternoon of activities. Many of our children attend two play afternoons before they start with us in the September. Please note we are non-selective at Reception and we do not hold any form of academic test for entry to this year group.

Offer and Acceptance of Places

Normally about 11 months prior to the start of your child’s expected first term at Willington, we will write to offer you a Parent Contract and to invite you to pay the deposit (currently £1,500).  The deposit will form part of the general funds of the School and will only be repaid at the end of your child’s final term at Willington in Year 6.  Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis on receipt of both the deposit and the signed acceptance form.  Families who already have a child at the school receive preference in the event of there being more families applying than we have places available.

To bring us in line with other schools in the area, we do offer the opportunity for parents to secure the place in advance of our offer to do so.

At the end of the Spring Term before your son/daughter is due to start at Willington, the School will invite you to confirm your allocated place by paying the first term’s fees by the first day of the Summer Term.  Otherwise, invoices will be sent out at the end of each preceding term and fees will be payable by or on the first day of the term.
