Joining Us at 7+

Admission to Year 3 in September 2021

Although 4+ is the main entry point to the school, we receive a high number of applications for entry into Year 3.  We plan to hold a formal assessment morning for candidates in the Autumn Term of Year 2, which is scheduled for Saturday 21st November 2020.

We will be holding an Open Morning Webinar, dedicated to 7+ entry in September 2021, on Friday 6th November. Click here to book your place.

Children who are registered for our 7+ will be invited to an out-of-hours tour of the School, in advance of the assessment, to help them feel comfortable with the environment.

Below are details of the process.

Register your Child

The first step is to register your child with us by clicking here. The deadline for registrations for the assessment morning is Friday 13th November. We would normally invite parents to visit the School, but due to the current Covid restrictions, we will be running virtual Open Mornings. Please click here to book for our 7+ Open Morning Webinar on Friday 6th November.

Reports and References

After registering your child with us, please submit a copy of his last school report (normally from the end of Year 1). At this stage we will write to your child's current school for a confidential pupil reference to support their application.

The Assessment Morning

The Assessment Morning for children looking for places in Year 3, September 2021 is scheduled for Saturday 21st November. During the assessment morning the children will undertake tests in both Maths and English (some tests will be held online), take part in a fun team-building activity, enjoy break/play time and participate in a lively group discussion with a senior member of staff.

Offer and Acceptance of Place

We aim to email our offers within a week of the Assessment Morning.

Children will be offered places according to

  • the results of the assessments,
  • their school reports and references,
  • feedback from all members of staff; and
  • the number of places available.

Places are offered on a first-come-first-served basis upon return of the signed Parent Contract and deposit payment. Siblings who have met the criteria and who have subsequently been offered a place will be given priority in the event of limited spaces.

Please contact Lucy Walton with any queries.
