Junior & Senior School

An example of a day in the Junior School (Years 3 and 4) and the Senior School (Years 5 to 8).

The School day is divided into ten periods, including normal sports practices, which take place inside the curriculum. Pupils are taught in their class groups for most subjects.

Arrival and Registration

Children arrive from 8.00am and Registration is at 8.20am.

There are two assemblies a week and Hymn Practice on a Thursday morning.

Children in the Junior School are classroom based with the core subjects taught by their class teacher and visits from the specialist teachers. Music, Art and Computing are taught in the specialist rooms.

Senior School children register with their form tutor by 8.20am. Lessons start at 8.40am, when the children move around the school to their specialist subject teacher in his/her classroom.

On a Thursday morning, pupils in Years 3 to 6 have swimming lessons on a half-yearly rota basis between year groups.

There is a morning break of 15 minutes at 11.15am.

Lunch lasts for one hour and includes half an hour for lunch and half an hour break time.

Lessons restart at 2.05pm and twice a week the children head to our nearby playing fields for Sport.
