Willington School Council continues to go from strength to strength and has a tremendously positive impact on life at Willington. School Council meets regularly and these meetings are a unique environment where boys from Years 1-8 are given a forum to share their ideas and where everyone’s contributions are truly valued. They discuss the various suggestions given to them from all the boys in the school and plan ways to make the School an even better place. Previous accolades for School Council have included a meeting with Merton Council to discuss raising the profile of recycling within the School, being involved in developing the new Rewards and Sanctions Policy at Willington and interviewing our current Headmaster for his role!
The passion and exuberance of its members has been remarked upon by everyone who has seen them in action. School Council strives not only to improve life at Willington, but, through its extensive charity work, the lives of people, places and animals all over the world. School Council is instrumental in leading Willington’s charitable work and, on average, with the help of the rest of the School, raises over £3,000 a year through organising and running various fundraising events.
