The Lego Room - Heritage & Innovation at Willington Prep

Creativity, teamwork and problem-solving

Willington Prep prides itself on its heritage and innovation. We have been pioneers in education for 140 years serving a diverse group of children aged between 3 and 11 years. With our outstanding academic results and a philosophy centred around 'childhood', we are excited to present our dedicated Lego Room designed to encourage creativity, innovation and to spark the joy in learning from our youngest to our oldest pupils.

This unique space, in the very heart of the school, with its glass-ceiling mezzanine overlooking the school hall, is designed to be a cornerstone for interactive, hands-on learning. Walls are lined with LEGO bases and diverse worktops invite children of all ages and abilities to build and create. This immersive and interactive experience promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork and engineering skills. It aligns with our commitment to STEM education by providing a hands-on learning environment away from screens.

Children engage in a variety of activities aligned with our broad curriculum and participate in teamwork challenges, engineering and robotics projects and creative play. Our new environment aims to enhance learning by integrating educational concepts with physical activity and creativity. It will help children's fine motor skills, spatial awareness, capacity for inventive thinking and ability to work collaboratively.

We invite you to visit Willington Prep and experience our unique approach to education firsthand.
