Musical Instrument/LAMDA Fair

New Year, New Skill!

Last Friday, during our very first week back, we were delighted to host our LAMDA and Musical Instrument Fair – a lively and inspiring start to the term, designed to spark curiosity and encourage children to try something new.

The fair was enjoyed by parents and our pupils, who in assembly later enjoyed a wonderful demonstration of the musical opportunities available at Willington. It was a joy to see their reactions as staff showcased a wide range of instruments and styles, highlighting just how accessible and exciting music-making can be.

From Mr Houlston performing an electric guitar piece by Joe Satriani, to Miss So on the xylophone playing Mozart, and Mrs White on the violin with the Beatles’ classic Let It Be, there was something to capture every imagination. The finale brought the hall together, with children spontaneously and enthusiastically singing along as Mrs Luc accompanied them on the piano in the much-loved song Golden.

The fair sits perfectly alongside our spring clubs programme, which is all about encouraging children to explore new interests, build confidence and discover hidden talents. We hope many will feel inspired to take their first steps into music or performance this term.
