Creativity, Engineering and Inspiring Visitors

Highlights from w/c 9th March 2026
A vibrant week at Willington Prep, Wimbledon saw pupils inspired by a visit from the Yale Society of Orpheus and Bacchus, one of the world’s oldest Acappella groups, who performed in assembly and led workshops with the children. The school also celebrated a whole-school Engineering Day with a space theme, where pupils collaborated across houses to design imaginative Lego creations including Mars rovers, space bases and engineering structures.
Beyond the classroom, pupils enjoyed a wide range of trips and experiences: Year 1 visited Bockett’s Farm, Year 4 explored Morden Hall Park and Years 5 and 6 attended a theatre performance of Hercules at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The travelling book fair continued the enthusiasm for reading following World Book Day, and the week concluded with another successful pupil music recital. With Discovery Morning welcoming prospective families, the week reflected the creativity, curiosity and community spirit that characterise life at Willington.
